Pub of the Year

Two Pubs of the Year!

"Pub of the Season" and "Pub of the Year" awards are made to recognise a pub's hard work and dedication in the cause of real ale. The recipients of such awards are usually delighted with this recognition of their efforts and the resultant free publicity.

In line with the procedure of some other CAMRA branches, Doncaster & District CAMRA are now to have two awards each season - one for Doncaster area (within 6 miles of Doncaster town centre) and one for Doncaster District (further afield). This will enable more pubs to receive deserved recognition more quickly.Two Pubs of the Year!

This means we shall now have a "Pub of the Year" for each of these areas. The results for the forthcoming 2006 awards have just been announced as follows:

Doncaster Pub of the Year - "Eagle and Child" at Auckley" (award to be presented at the pub on 8th April, 2006 - from 8 p.m. onwards) and

Doncaster District Pub of the Year - "Jemmy Hirst at the Rose and Crown" at Rawcliffe (award to be presented at the pub on 5th May, 2006 - catch bus at West Street at 6.30 p.m.)

Both pubs are very worthy winners. Well done!
